Pants Alterations

Do you have pants hanging in your closet that never get worn because they don’t fit quite right? Tired of paying to have your jeans hemmed? This class will teach the basics of pant alterations for the average home sewer utilizing hand sewing and machine sewing skills. This is an intermediate class for people who have some prior sewing experience. Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Fee: $45

Sew Projects

Do you have a sewing project gone awry? Ready to start a dress, but can't figure out the pattern? Learned to sew years ago and have a 1/2 finished project gathering dust? This class is for you. As a small group, we will focus on problem solving, removing obstacles, and learning new tricks.
Bring a new project or a work in progress - you'll receive guidance and encouragement to overcome hurdles you have run into while working on your current project or while sewing in the past.
Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Fee: $25

Beginning Knitting

You can knit! You will be making either a felted tote bag or backpack in this class with a few simple skills. The objective of this class is to get you comfortable with the knitting needles, learn the basic stitch which all other stitches derive, and have a bag you’ll be proud to say "I made it myself!" There is no prerequisite to take this class and is designed to get you knitting!
Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Fee: $25

4 hanks of Cascade 220 (no superwash, cotton, linen, or synthetics) in either 1, 2, or 3 colors

Intermediate Sewing - Purse

Take your sewing skills one step further and make a fashionable bag. Students will continue to refine their sewing skills and accuracy; in this class you will use a pattern to create the Amy Butler "Kimberly Bag." The class teaches you to put in a zipper, line a purse as well as many other sewing skills. Students are asked to come to the first session of the class with the paper pattern pieces cut out and having reviewed the pattern instructions. This is an intermediate class for people who have taken our beginning sewing pant or bag class or have recent equivalent sewing experience.

Alterations - Pants

Do you have pants hanging in your closet that never get worn because they don’t fit quite right? Tired of paying to have your jeans hemmed? This class will teach the basics of pant alterations for the average home sewer utilizing hand sewing and machine sewing skills. This is an intermediate class for people who have some prior sewing experience. Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Fee: $45

March 23 & 30, 6:30pm – 9:00pm (Tuesdays)
Intermediate Sewing - Skirt

Hone the skills you need to sew from patterns. In this class use a pattern to cut it out and piece a garment, make darts, put in a zipper and make a hem and waistband. All while creating a fun and sassy skirt. This is an intermediate class for people who have taken the beginning sewing class or have equivalent sewing experience.
Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Fee: $45

New Look Pattern 6149, 6758, 6854, 6433 (not view C) or 6163.
Amount of cotton, cotton blend, linen, or lightweight wool woven fabric called for on the pattern for the size and style skirt you wish to make (pre-washed before the class).
1 1/8 yards lightweight fusible interfacing if called for on pattern back.

Beginning Sewing - Bag

The Bag Class offers beginning sewers a chance to get acquainted with basic fabric cutting and measuring skills, basic machine use, stitching, hemming and seam finishing among other techniques. In the class you’ll make a cool shopping bag with a pocket and handles from 1 yard of medium to heavy weight fabric. This is a beginning class for people with no prior sewing experience.
Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Fee: $45
