We require pre-registration for all of our classes.  To register; you can stop by the store or give us a call at 206-709--0707 with your credit card information. Classes fill up fast and are first come, first serve.  Fourteen days notice is required to reschedule or cancel any class for a refund.

Beginning Sewing 102 – Pillow

Make a decorative pillow for your home in one session. Learn how make piping and put in a zipper. Pillows in stores can cost a fortune and it can be hard to find what you want. Now you can make your own. Like all of our sewing classes, there is a maximum of 4 students, so you will get lots of teacher attention. This is beginner class for people who have taken the bag or apron class and have completed at least one project on their own (or have similar sewing experience).

Hand Embroidery 101

Embroidery has come a long way since your grandma’s samplers. Explore the beauty and versatility of hand needlework in this two-session course. You will learn traditional stitches and new ideas for applying these techniques to modern designs. Suitable for those new to hand embroidery and those who want to brush up on their skills, you will embellish a tote bag, apron or cut of fabric of your choosing using a variety of different stitches.
Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Fee: $50

Cotton DMC floss (3 colors minimum- no metallic/sparky floss)
Package of embroidery needles
8-12 inch embroidery hoop

Hone the skills you need to sew from patterns. In this class use a pattern to cut it out and piece a garment, make darts, put in a zipper and make a hem and waistband. All while creating a fun and sassy skirt. This is an intermediate class for people who have taken the beginning sewing class or have equivalent sewing experience.

Knitting 102 – Simple Hat

This class expands on the skills learned in Knitting 101, furthering your pattern reading skills, learning how to knit in the round on circular needles as well as yarn-overs and decreasing to make a simple but fun hat.
Class requirements: must know how to cast-on, knit and purl. Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Fee: $50

Intermediate Sewing 202- Knits

If you have skills to sew with patterns using woven fabrics, and wish to learn how to work with knits, this will be a great class for you. For the class you can choose to make a pair of panties, boxer briefs, leggings, or yoga pants. You have several pattern options to choose from, including men’s and plus size options. This is an intermediate class for people who have taken our intermediate skirt class or have recent equivalent sewing experience.

Learn the basics of knitting while making a simple dishcloth! Class will cover beginning pattern reading, how to cast-on, basic stitches (knit and purl), binding off and simple finishing. This class will create a strong foundation to build upon for future knitting projects.
