We require pre-registration for all of our classes.  To register you can stop by the store or give us a call at 206-709--0707 with your credit card information. Classes fill up fast and are first come, first serve.  Fourteen days notice is required to reschedule or cancel any class for a refund.

Needle Felting 101 – Sculpt a creature
Learn how to form wool into 3-D shapes, layer on colors and make a very realistic felt miniature creation. Using your choice of WoolPets Kit, and a foam pad you can sculpt a sweet creature of your very own! No experience needed.

Beginning Sewing 101 – Bag

The Bag Class offers beginning sewers a chance to get acquainted with basic fabric cutting and measuring skills, basic machine use, stitching, hemming and seam finishing among other techniques. In the class you’ll make a cool shopping bag with a pocket and handles from 1 yard of medium to heavy weight fabric. This is a beginning class for people with no prior sewing experience.

Beginning Sewing 102 – Pants
Learn the basic skills you need in order to begin sewing from patterns. In this class you’ll learn how to read a pattern, cut it out, piece a garment and make hem and waistband. All while creating a fun pair of casual cotton pants or pajama bottoms! This is a beginning class for people with little prior sewing experience. If you have never used a sewing machine, we recommend taking the Beginning Sewing – Bag or Apron class first.

Knitting 102 – Simple Hat

This class expands on the skills learned in Knitting 101, furthering your pattern reading skills, learning how to knit in the round on circular needles as well as decreasing to make a simple but fun hat.
Class requirements: must know how to cast-on, knit and purl.
Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Fee: $60

NEW! Beginning Sewing 102 - Zipper Pouch

Learn how to make a 9" lined, flat-bottom zipper pouch; perfect for storing toiletries, notions, art supplies, etc! Skills taught in this class include: basic zipper installation, how to shorten a zipper using the "tab" method, basic self-drafting techniques, and how to build better sewing habits. Students may have the opportunity to sew more than one zipper pouch during the allotted class time.
This is a beginning class for people with little prior sewing experience. If you have never used a sewing machine, we recommend taking the Beginning Sewing – Bag class first. One 3-hour session. Fee: $35

Hand Embroidery 101

Embroidery has come a long way since your grandma’s samplers. Explore the beauty and versatility of hand needlework in this two-session course. You will learn traditional stitches and new ideas for applying these techniques to modern designs. Suitable for those new to hand embroidery and those who want to brush up on their skills, you will embellish a tote bag, apron or cut of fabric of your choosing using a variety of different stitches.
Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Fee: $50
Tools and materials needed (Available at Stitches):
Cotton DMC floss (3 colors minimum- no metallic/sparky floss)
Package of embroidery needles
10 - 12 inch embroidery hoop
Small pair of scissors

Hand Quilting 101- Coaster

Is your life too fast paced and filled with too much screen time? Looking to slow down, get away from technology and appreciate the feel of thread and fabric in your hands? Learn how to quilt--how it was done before the invention of sewing machines! Create small, sweet hexagons stitched together to become practical coasters for your coffee table. All the skills learned in this two session class can be applied to future projects to create larger objects such as place-mats, decorative pillows and even heirloom quilts.
Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Fee: $60

Hone the skills you need to sew from patterns. In this class use a pattern to cut it out and piece a garment, make darts, put in a zipper and make a hem and waistband. All while creating a fun and sassy skirt. This is an intermediate class for people who have taken the beginning sewing class or have equivalent sewing experience.

Learn the basics of knitting while making a simple dishcloth! Class will cover beginning pattern reading, how to cast-on, basic stitches (knit and purl), binding off and simple finishing. This class will create a strong foundation to build upon for future knitting projects.

NEW! Weaving 101

This old-world craft has recently been revived with wonderfully contemporary touches. Join us for a two-part class on the basics of weaving and construct your own beautiful woven tapestry! Learn how to warp a simple wooden loom, how to add fringe, create a variety of textures and other fun techniques to create a work of art for your wall.
Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Fee: $70 (price includes yarns and fibers, however you will need the other items on the list*)
