Come check out the events and classes at Stitches.
We require pre-registration for all of our classes (Stitchin’ Sundays are drop-in and there is no need to call ahead).  To register; you can stop by the store or give us a call at 206-709-0707 with your credit card information.  Classes fill up fast and are first come, first serve.  Fourteen days notice is required to reschedule or cancel any class for a refund.

Learn the basic skills you need in order to begin sewing from patterns. NEW! Intermediate II Sewing – Knit Top

You already sew, use patterns and sewing machine, and want to refine your skills. This workshop will teach you the techniques needed to successfully sew with knit fabrics. From cutting the pattern pieces, to proper stitching, to knowing the appropriate machine setting and deedless to use; we’ll cover it all. Come and make a stylish, comfy knit top. Fellows, there is even a men’s pattern so you can make yourself something!

Beginning Knitting

Come rediscover what your grandmothers knew--knitting is relaxing, challenging, and fun. This class will focus on the very basic skills. You'll learn how to knit and purl, cast on and bind off, measure gauge, and read basic knitting patterns. With these skills, you'll be able to take on your first project, and your instructor will help you get started. Pick from one of our projects (sassy backpack, cozy hat, patterned scarf) or choose your own!
Two 2-½ - hour sessions.  Fee: $25

Size 10 knitting needles (recommend getting circulars, 16" in length)

Intermediate II Sewing - Jumper Dress

You already sew, use patterns and sewing machine, and want to refine your skills. Come learn how to construct a more a more sophisticated garment, and have a funky new jumper to add to your wardrobe! In this workshop, you will learn how to make a lined bodice, install an 18” zipper, and add details such as pockets, gathers or trim, depending on which view that you choose to make.
Please cut your pattern and fabric pieces prior to the 1st night of class, remembering to measure the grainline of all your pieces. We will start off the class by marking the cut pieces as necessary, and then get right into the construction
